Puppies are so cute! But when you consider that according to the Humane Society of the United States, “In the U.S., there are an estimated 6-8 million homeless animals entering animal shelters every year. Barely half of these animals are adopted. Tragically, the rest are euthanized.” These are healthy, sweet pets who would have made great companions.
I strongly encourage everyone to spay and neuter their pets. If you cannot afford it there are many low cost programs available to help families in need – some of which are specifically for Pit Bulls. If there isn’t one near you – start one!
I worked with my local Pit Bull Rescue, Out of the Pits, Inc. to create the “Fix-A-Bull” Program. It is a low cost spay and neuter program for Pit Bulls. I am proud to say we’ve spayed and neutered over 1,000 Pit Bulls since 2009!
