Pocket Pitties by CharlieDog and Friends are a group of plush stuffed animals based on real Pit Bulls from the shelter system.
Each Pocket Pittie is lovingly inspected and dressed with a unique “Adopt” collar bracelet, a unique accessory that you can remove and wear yourself as a bracelet. The bracelets are made of 100% cotton Michael Miller fabric and are embroidered with the word “Adopt”. Wear one, and you’ll quickly find yourself in a conversation with a stranger about the pets you’ve both adopted and the lives you’ve saved.
Included with your purchase is a postcard of the real-life dog, and his/her story, and a Facebook card for Bruised Not Broken (who welcomes your friendship).
All Pocket Pitties are 7 inches when seated, and 9 inches from the top of their head to the bottom of their toes. They are made of super-soft velour, with embroidered features and no plastic parts. They’re machine washable, but you may want to simply spot clean them. They’re weighted with little beans, but they’re not baggy.
15% of each Pocket Pittie sold is donated to Bruised Not Broken, as it continues to save “death row” pups while advocating for this most misunderstood family pet.
Ruko is CharlieDogs’ plush toy pit bull Pocket Pittie baed on a real-life, rescued search-and-rescue dog.
Ruko was adopted from the Manhattan Animal Care & Control on August 30th, 2011 after being seen on the “Bruised Not Broken” Facebook page. He had obviously been someone’s companion, but was found as a stray and determined to be about a year old. He had come down with kennel cough and was a day away from being put on “the list”. His adopter made the drive from central Pennsylvania to Manhattan, NY.
Ruko’s Mom writes: “Ruko is EXTREMELY high energy and high drive, which makes him perfect for Search & Rescue! He will do anything for “his ball”. When he is not training and working towards becoming a certified Search & Rescue (SAR) K9, specializing in Human Remains Detection (HRD), he keeps busy training for obedience competitions, working towards his therapy dog certification and playing ball.
“During his brief moments of calm, he can be found snuggling with his mommy or his nana. He can never be too close to the ones he loves! The ones he loves also includes four cats and his brother, K9 Gauge. If given the opportunity, he will give kisses to anyone at any time, especially kids!
